The Honky Tonk Dance with Karen Collins & the Backroads Band offers an evening of live country music and dancing at Glen Echo Park. The event features one of the Washington DC area's premier honky-tonk groups, known for their authentic vintage sound blending shuffles, two-steps, slow tunes, and early rockabilly. A complimentary beginner two-step lesson is included with admission, taught by instructors from Dancing by the Bayou, making the dance accessible to newcomers. The evening begins with doors opening at 7:00pm, followed by the lesson from 7:30pm to 8:00pm, and then dancing to the band from 8:00pm to 10:30pm.

Beginner Lesson: Free with admission; a beginner two‑step lesson led by Sharon Schiliro and Michael Hart of Dancing by the Bayou. The lesson runs from 7:30pm to 8:00pm.

Lineup: Karen Collins & the Backroads Band, described as one of the DC area's top honky‑tonk groups. Their music is real country with an authentic vintage sound that includes shuffles, two‑steps, buckle‑polishing slow tunes, and early rockabilly songs.

Run time: Approximately 3 hours total (30‑minute lesson plus 2.5 hours of dancing).

Ages: All ages are welcome; no partner or prior experience is required.
