FREE-ISH: Stories of Joy and Resistance

Celebrate Juneteenth with an evening of storytelling, poetry, music, and trivia at the Heurich House Museum on Thursday, June 18th from 7 to 8:30pm. Hosted by Diana Veiga, FREE-ISH features music by Queen Supreme and four storytellers—JJohn Johnson, Micah the Poet, Shawna Renee, and Ronald Young Jr.—sharing first-person stories filled with laughter, truth, and testimony on what it takes to get free, because for us freedom has always been worth the fight, and joy is one of the most radical things we’ve got. This interactive storytelling show is part of the larger A [New] American Dream series that runs from May 20th to August 7th, 2026.

When: Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm EDT.
Showtimes: Doors open at 6:45pm; the museum biergarten opens at 4pm and remains open until 9pm.
