Sillygander
Sillygander is an interactive improv experience from Resonance Improv Alliance that combines a beginner-friendly workshop with a live comedy jam. Designed as a welcoming midweek escape in Northern Virginia, it invites audiences to participate, learn the fundamentals of improv, connect with local creatives, and watch spontaneous scenes develop from audience suggestions.
The evening begins with an introductory workshop for absolute beginners and anyone curious about improv. Instructors guide participants through collaborative games and exercises focused on active listening, “Yes, And,” spontaneity, and trust. The second part features local indie ensembles, experienced community performers, and workshop graduates creating unscripted comedy sets on the spot.
