Wilderness Generation

Wilderness Generation is a new comedy by James Ijames, the Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright of *Fat Ham*, that follows four cousins as they gather at their late grandmother’s home in Tidewater Virginia to sort through her belongings. Over a weekend of board games and inside jokes, the cousins share laughter, reveal long-held secrets, and confront difficult truths about the choices their parents made for them. The play looks at the layers of legacy within a family, asking whether preserving a memory means holding on tightly or learning to let something new in. Directed by Taibi Magar, this production is presented by Studio Theatre in association with Philadelphia Theatre Company.
