Goodnight, Texas

Goodnight, Texas brings its genre-blurring Americana to Jammin Java, performing songs built around vivid stories, ringing banjos and mandolins, forceful electric guitars, and close harmonies. The band performs with Jarrod Dickenson.

The show draws from Goodnight, Texas’s catalog of tales about subjects such as trapped coal miners, bank-robbing lovers, D. B. Cooper, and North Dakota oil-field workers. The band’s newer material comes from *Signals*, an album that pushes its sound in heavier and more expansive directions while retaining its roots-oriented instrumentation. Its first single, “RUNAWAYS,” features a guest guitar solo by Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, who had praised the group’s version of “Of Wolf and Man” on the 2022 *Metallica Blacklist* covers album. *Signals* also includes production and studio contributions from Ian and Jay Pellicci of Deerhoof and Tune-Yards.
