History Happy Hour: How Young People are Advocating for a New American Dream

History Happy Hour: How Young People Are Advocating for a New American Dream is an evening discussion with Sam Hiner, Executive Director of the Young People’s Alliance. The program examines how Generation Z is responding to rising housing costs, limited career opportunities, emerging technologies, and other social and economic challenges while working across political lines to advocate for change.

Hiner, who was named to the 2026 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for social impact, will discuss the work of the Young People’s Alliance, which has mobilized more than 20,000 students nationwide. The organization’s 4,000 members are advocating for affordable housing, entry-level employment opportunities, and safer digital environments. Its Declaration for a New American Dream has been signed by thousands of young people, and its Human-like AI Framework has helped inform legislation concerning children’s online safety.

Showtimes: The program runs from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Museum members may arrive beginning at 5:45 p.m. for early admission and bar access. Doors open to the general public at 6:15 p.m.

Tickets: General admission is $25; museum member admission is $20; student admission is $10, with no museum member discount for student tickets. VIP tables cost $150, or $120 for museum members, and accommodate four people.
