Steve Herberman Plays "The American Songbook" - Guitar Series
Steve Herberman brings his guitar trio to Blues Alley for an evening of selections from the Great American Songbook. Joined by bassist James King and drummer Chuck Redd, Herberman takes an interactive, modern approach inspired by the influential trios of Jim Hall, Kenny Burrell, and Bill Evans.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Herberman adopted seven-string guitar in 1993 and has recorded extensively as both a bandleader and sideman. He is also a jazz educator, with more than 60 video lessons published through Mike’s Masterclasses, and has toured throughout the United States and Europe. He is featured in Scott Yanow’s book *The Great Jazz Guitarists*, won first place in the jazz category of the 2018 USA Songwriting Competition for his original song “What We Do,” and was named a top guitarist in the 2022 *All About Jazz* readers’ poll. Herberman is based in the Washington, DC, area and endorses Comins Guitars and GLB Sound amplifiers.
