Behind the Issue with The Atlantic: 50 Unforgettable Love Stories - Panel Discussion with Host of Radio Atlantic Adam Harris
The Atlantic’s “50 Unforgettable Love Stories” is the focus of this edition of Behind the Issue, a panel exploring the creation of the magazine’s editorial list and the qualities that make a love story endure. The project brings together romantic fiction and nonfictional literary forms from more than four centuries, ranging from Philip Sidney’s 1591 work *Astrophil and Stella* to Yael van der Wouden’s 2024 novel *The Safekeep*, while also including poetry, plays, and short stories.
Adam Harris, host of *Radio Atlantic*, will moderate a conversation with Atlantic Books editors Boris Kachka and Emma Sarappo, staff writer and critic Lily Meyer, and staff writer Jenisha Watts. Harris is also the author of *The State Must Provide: Why America’s Colleges Have Always Been Unequal—and How to Set Them Right*. Before joining *The Atlantic* in 2018, he reported on federal higher-education policy and historically Black colleges and universities for *The Chronicle of Higher Education*.
