Social Distortion

Social Distortion brings their long-running punk-rock legacy to The Anthem on September 4, 2026, joined by two storied support acts: the legendary Descendents, who helped define California pop-punk, and the rowdy Australian shed-rockers The Chats. Fresh off the release of their first album in 15 years, *Born To Kill*, Social Distortion—led by frontman Mike Ness—promises a set spanning their career from *Mommy’s Little Monster* through the new record, with tales of outlaws, love lost, and resilience. Descendents will draw from their deep catalogue and their "lost album" *9th & Walnut*, while The Chats bring their irreverent, viral-energy punk celebrating the simple, rebellious joys of life.

Showtimes: Doors open at 6:00 PM; the show begins at 7:30 PM. Opening acts, door times, and set times are subject to change.

Tickets: Available for purchase. Super Excellent Seats are non-transferable and must be picked up day-of-show only—prior to doors at the box office, and after doors at the 900 Maine Ave entrance. No alternate pickup is allowed for those seats. The Anthem and Ticketmaster reserve the right to cancel any tickets suspected of being purchased solely for resale.

Lineup: Social Distortion (headliner), Descendents, and The Chats. Social Distortion has been a standard bearer for punk since the late ’70s, releasing *Born To Kill* in 2024 after Ness’s health scare and a long writing process. Descendents, featuring Milo Aukerman, Bill Stevenson, Stephen Egerton, and Karl Alvarez, will perform material spanning their career and from the 2002-recorded *9th & Walnut*. The Chats, formed in a shed in Queensland, shot to fame with their viral hit “Smoko” and continue their brand of "shed rock" with songs like “Do What I Want” and “Pub Feed.”

Venue: The Anthem, 901 Wharf St SW, Washington, DC 20024 (entrance for day-of-show pickup at 900 Maine Ave). The venue has air conditioning.
