6950 Maple Street Northwest, Washington, DC
Free

Farmers Supporting Farmers Market is a community fundraising market bringing together local earthworkers, artists, growers, food workers, and supporters of food sovereignty. Proceeds from artistic goods and fall produce will benefit the Seeds of Solidarity Funding Drive, which supports farm workers and food-growing initiatives in Gaza, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cuba, and Niger.

The market will feature handmade goods, farm products, a seed-saving workshop, community activities, and performances. Organizers describe it as an opportunity to connect with the community while supporting creatives and farmers affected by colonial violence and systemic oppression.

When: Friday, November 13, 2026

Showtimes: 5:00–8:00 p.m.

Venue: Rhizome DC

Tickets: Free; donations are welcomed.

RSVP: An RSVP is requested through the event page.

Offerings: Items are expected to include dried-flower wreaths, ceramics, naturally dyed textiles, linocut prints, farm-grown pepper flakes, custom seed packets, fall vegetables, and other artistic or agricultural goods.

Activities: The event includes a seed-saving workshop, additional community activities, and performances.

Format and weather: The market will take place primarily outdoors, weather permitting.

Organizers: The event is organized in collaboration with Guelph 4 Palestine, the Sudanese Resistance Front, the Palaver Collective, Seed Soil Spirit, members of the National Farmers Union of Canada, and farmers across Turtle Island.

Fundraising projects: Contributions will support Arduna, a farming family in Gaza raising food in Beit Lahia and assisting other farming families; the Pan-African Learning Centre & Garden in Tanganyika in the Democratic Republic of the Congo; a collective of Black farmers in Cuba developing food-production capacity; Femmes Engagées pour la Sauvegarde de la Patrie in Niger, which is working on food sovereignty; and We Must Plant, an initiative of the Gezira and Managil Farmers’ Alliance supported by the Sudan Solidarity Collective and Sudanese Resistance Front.

Use of funds: The campaigns are raising money for needs including solar panels and water-pumping equipment in Gaza, tools and materials for a community garden and learning center in the Congo, irrigation and solar-powered equipment in Cuba, irrigation and cultivation supplies in Niger, and support for farmers in Sudan.

Fundraising goal: The broader drive aims to recruit land workers to raise $500–$1,000 each by November 20, 2026, with a collective minimum target of $25,000.
