The Mt Plantastic Zine Fair

The Mt Plantastic Zine Fair is a free evening celebration at Rhizome DC marking the release of Mt Plantry’s second risograph-printed zine. The zine, handprinted in DC, documents the collective’s second year, a period in which its gatherings expanded from a small plantry into breweries, mills, and art spaces. Inside its pages are photographs and results from those events and other projects, along with instructions that let readers recreate Mt Plantry’s hands-on approach at home. The fair also brings the zine’s methods to life through live demos running throughout the night, all centered on an 11-inch by 14-inch plywood pinhole camera. Copies of the new zine, last year’s issue, and other zines made by collective members will be on sale, making it both a release party and a small-press showcase.

Demos: Pinhole camera technique demonstrations occur throughout the evening, using an 11″ by 14″ plywood pinhole camera to teach methods from the zine.
