Take It Personal

Take It Personal is a live hip-hop improv comedy show hosted by Cipha Sounds. Drawing on stories from audience members and special guests, Cipha and a team of comedians and improvisers build an entirely spontaneous performance onstage. The show combines hip-hop and comedy through freestyle scenes created without a script or rehearsal.

Cipha Sounds is known for his work with *Chappelle’s Show*, Hot 97, MTV, Roc Nation, and numerous comedy and entertainment projects. The show originated at the Upright Citizens Brigade and has featured guests including Questlove, Zoe Kravitz, Donald Glover, 2 Chainz, and Fat Joe.

About the Host: Cipha Sounds began his comedy career after studying improv at the original Upright Citizens Brigade and practicing stand-up in New York. He was the official DJ for *Chappelle’s Show*, hosted the TruTV series *Laff Mobb Laff Tracks*, appeared in *That Damn Michael Che* and *25th Hour*, and co-hosted A&E’s *Hip Hop Treasures* with LL Cool J. He has toured and performed with comedians including Dave Chappelle, Michael Che, Michelle Wolf, Mo Amer, and Ronny Chieng, and has appeared at SXSW, the New York Comedy Festival, and Just for Laughs.
