Somewhere Over the Rose: A Tribute to Judy Garland & Bette Midler

Somewhere Over the Rose is a cabaret tribute to Judy Garland and Bette Midler, performed by actor and singer Kathy Halenda with pianist David Landrum. The evening combines a reception with hors d’oeuvres and an open bar followed by Halenda’s tribute performance. The event is open to the public and is produced by Cliftine Jones.

Halenda brings more than 30 years of professional experience to the program, with credits in more than 250 productions and 20 national tours. Her musical-theater roles have included Mama Rose in *Gypsy*, Rita Marshall in *Tootsie*, Mae West in *Ziegfeld*, Golde in *Fiddler on the Roof*, Nancy in *Oliver*, Maggie Jones in *42nd Street*, and many others. She has also created several one-woman shows, including *The Brassy Broads of Broadway*, *Sophie Tucker: Last of the Red-Hot Mamas*, and *Somewhere Over the Rose*, which she has performed in several states.

Landrum is a pianist, music director, and associate music director whose credits include *They’re Playing Our Song*, *The Sound of Music*, and the *Riverside Christmas Spectacular*. He studied musical-theater accompanying at Shenandoah Conservatory, performed for five years with Shenandoah Summer Music Theater, and has also taught and served as a resident music director at the University of Mary Washington.
