The Reston Museum: Exemplar of Urban Design

The Reston Museum presents a program examining what makes a community successful and whether thoughtful design can help create it. Using Reston as its central example, the program traces the development of planned communities, identifies their defining features, and considers how urban design affects the way people experience and participate in community life.

The event is presented in partnership with the Reston Museum, a community nonprofit founded in 1996 to preserve Reston’s history, interpret its present, and help shape its future through exhibits, educational programs, and community events.
