Ronald K. Brown / EVIDENCE brings an evening of contemporary dance rooted in African diasporic traditions to George Mason University's Center for the Arts. Brown, a Guggenheim Fellow and Astaire Award–winning choreographer, founded EVIDENCE at age 19 in Brooklyn. The company's work blends contemporary, West African, and Caribbean influences to explore identity, spirituality, and resilience. Critics have called the performances “irresistibly kinetic” (The New York Times) and “breathtaking and life‑sustaining and hopeful” (The Boston Globe). Brown has been commissioned by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Hispánico, PHILADANCO!, and others.
