Planet Word’s 6th Anniversary Community Day

Planet Word celebrates its sixth anniversary with a community day featuring the museum’s signature exhibits, pop-up talks and demonstrations from the curatorial and technology teams, and special activities throughout the building. Visitors can also stop by the swag table for a treat and keepsakes.

Participants in the Book Busters Reading Challenge can gather in the Book Busters Lounge to meet fellow readers, collect a free button, and take part in special activities. Everyone who completes the challenge is automatically entered into the raffle.

When: Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tickets: Free

Venue: Planet Word Museum, 925 13th St. NW; entrance on K Street.

Schedule: Museum-wide activities run from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. and include a self-guided Building History & Architecture audio tour through Bloomberg Connects, a museum-wide scavenger hunt, and wordplay table games in Classroom A on the second floor.

Book Busters Lounge: The lounge opens at 1:00 p.m. in Classroom B on the second floor. The Book Busters raffle drawing takes place at 2:00 p.m.

Curator Pop-up Talk: From 12:30 to 12:45 p.m. on the second floor in the Library, visitors can learn about the newest additions to Planet Word’s library collection.

Tech Talk: From 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. in The Spoken World on the third floor, a member of the technology team will share behind-the-scenes museum facts and lead a Globe Raising experience.
