Step into the richly expressive world of the Romantic era with National Philharmonic’s performance of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto at The Music Center at Strathmore. Led by conductor Chia-Hsuan Lin, the evening pairs one of the repertoire’s most demanding and beloved violin showpieces with two other Romantic landmarks, creating a program built on brilliance, storytelling, and sweeping orchestral color. Rising-star violinist Ava Pakiam, hailed by San Francisco Classical Voice as a “rising star,” brings both passion and precision to Tchaikovsky’s remarkable concerto, a work renowned for its technical challenges and lyrical depth. The program also includes Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s Overture in C major and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3 in A minor, known as the “Scottish” Symphony, which evokes misty highlands and ancient ruins in its atmospheric landscapes.
