K8A / Andy Betezema
Kaethe Hostetter performs as K8A in a solo violin performance shaped by her years immersed in Ethiopia and by her background in classical music, avant-jazz, and improvisation. Using live looping, electronics, psychedelic textures, dub-influenced delays, and extended string techniques, she reworks Ethiopian melodic traditions and song forms into an immersive, slowly unfolding sound environment. The performance may also include projections inspired by Ethiopian textiles and street life, expanding the violin into a hypnotic one-person ensemble.
Andy Betezema opens the evening with a separate set.
