Third Thursday
Third Thursday is an evening gallery event accompanying Studio Gallery’s October/November 2026 exhibitions. Visitors can view four concurrent exhibitions by Micheline Klagsbrun, Chris Chernow, Kathryn Camicia, and Lisa Battle, with event hours varying by exhibition area. The work explores journeys and transformation, moments of joy and refuge, floral imagery, and the abundance and interconnectedness of the natural world.
Klagsbrun’s *Traversing the Silence*, curated by Aneta Georgievska-Shine, centers on bridges as symbols of transformation, passage, and deliberate movement into uncertain territory. Rope bridges, pathways, and weathered fencing appear in sculptures and works on paper, suggesting journeys to new places, personal life changes, and discovery along boundaries. One sculpture from the series, a 16-foot wire-and-resin rope bridge incorporating found objects and scraps of text, is absent because it is on view at the 2026 Venice Biennale.
In *Moments of Escape*, curated by Judy Southerland, Chris Chernow reflects on dancing, celebrations, community, music, travel, returning home, and the beauty of nature. Inspired in part by recent weddings, the exhibition focuses on preserving moments of joy, contemplation, and gratitude amid the pressures of contemporary life. Kathryn Camicia’s *I Fiori*, curated by Robert Cwiok and Iza Thomas, presents floral imagery. Lisa Battle’s *Profusion*, also curated by Cwiok and Thomas, layers printed leaves, vines, and botanical forms into paintings that evoke dense, interconnected wilderness and encourage reflection on nature’s slower timescale and humanity’s responsibility to the living world.
