Swing Dance with Allstars Big Band

On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the historic Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo Park will host a Swing Dance featuring the AllStars Big Band, a Washington, DC ensemble of veteran musicians—many formerly with the Tom Cunningham Orchestra—alongside standout youth players. The band brings the classic big band sound of the 1930s and 1940s (Ellington, Basie, Goodman, Miller) to life with energy and authenticity. The evening begins with a beginner swing dance lesson taught by Ellen Engle and Marc Shepanek of Flying Feet Enterprises, included with admission. Dancing to live music runs from 9:00pm to 11:30pm.
