Monochrome

Tue, Sep 1, 2026 – Sun, Oct 4, 2026
105 North Union Street, Alexandria, VA
Price not available

Monochrome is a fiber arts exhibition presented by Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery, devoted entirely to the expressive power of a single-color palette. The show invites visitors to explore how removing color from the equation shifts attention to texture, form, light, and the tactile qualities of fiber. The exhibition carries the evocative subtitle “Shades of the same color,” underscoring the idea that within one hue there is a vast range of depth, mood, and materiality. Works span numerous fiber techniques and formats, including weaving, felting, quilting, silk painting, beading, and handspun yarn, and appear as wall art, framed pieces, wearable garments, jewelry, home decor, and table linens. The show runs for over a month in the gallery’s Studio 29 home inside the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
