Photomontage Collage
Photomontage Collage is a beginner-friendly, two-session workshop focused on creating narrative collages from magazine images and other found printed materials. Participants will explore how existing imagery can be combined to produce surreal, political, or personally themed compositions, while drawing inspiration from the irreverent photomontage tradition associated with Dada artist Hannah Höch.
The workshop is led by mixed-media, collage, and assemblage artist Sharon Robinson, whose career has included exhibiting, teaching, mural work, gallery management, and arts administration. Students will develop their own pieces using a broad selection of supplied collage materials and are encouraged to bring additional papers and images that interest them.
