Carsie Blanton

Carsie Blanton brings her radical folk songwriting to Union Stage with Canadian folk-punk band The Burning Hell. Her music combines catchy melodies, sharp humor, and hopeful, politically engaged lyrics with elements of vaudeville, campfire singalongs, and punk rock. Blanton performs with a seasoned touring band and emphasizes audience connection, solidarity, and collective hope.

The performance also reflects Blanton’s work as a political organizer and activist. In fall 2025, she took part in the Global Sumud Flotilla, a sailing action intended to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and was imprisoned in Israel for five days after spending a month at sea. Afterward, she released “The Little Flame,” a solidarity song featuring background vocals from Ye Vagabonds and Rana Hamida. The song appears on her latest album, *The Red Album Vol II*. Blanton has spent two decades touring, built a devoted following, and regularly sells out mid-sized venues in the United States and Europe.
