Iconic comedian Paula Poundstone brings her signature blend of smart, observational humor and spontaneous wit to the Birchmere for a night of stand-up. Recognized for her quick-thinking improvisation and sharp commentary on everyday life, Poundstone is a regular panelist on NPR’s *Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me*, hosts the weekly podcast *Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone*, and voiced the character ‘Forgetter Paula’ in the films *Inside Out* and *Inside Out 2*. She has starred in multiple HBO specials, including the cable ACE Award–winning *Cats, Cops and Stuff*, was the first female comedian to host the White House Correspondents Dinner, and provided live coverage of the 1992 political conventions for *The Tonight Show*. Her second book, *The Totally Unscientific Study of the Search for Human Happiness*, was a semi-finalist for the Thurber Prize for American Humor, and its audiobook was an AUDIE Award finalist. Poundstone has also released five albums and appears in documentaries celebrating influential comedians.
