ADELE MARIE (ALBUM RELEASE SHOW)
Adele Marie, a classically-trained vocalist and experimental folk artist based in the Washington, D.C. area, celebrates the release of a new album with an introspective looping set at Songbyrd Music House. Her performance features multi-instrumental looping, intimate acoustic songs, prepared guitar noise, free-associative lyrics, nostalgic melodies, and punchy dynamic shifts, augmented by props like a cosmic disco egg and rainbow furby. Following the show, Adele Marie offers original blind contour line drawings to audience members. Supporting the evening are The Electric Grandmother, a Washington D.C. cult duo known for their “Sitcom-Core” apocalyptic pop and comedic musical chaos wrapped in nostalgia, and Yellow Velvet, an indie jazz group from the DMV blending jazz, classical, and choral training with intricate time signatures, lush harmonies, and doo-wop sensibilities. The lineup includes bassist Brookelove Hanlon, pianist Chris BD, and vocalists Pigeon Valentine and Connor Laughland.
