Gustavo Casenave, the three-time Grammy Award-winning Uruguayan-American pianist and composer, presents a solo piano performance at Blues Alley. Known for virtuosic, emotionally powerful playing, Casenave works across jazz, classical, and tango, bringing an extensive international career and more than 35 albums to this intimate concert.

Casenave won Grammy Awards for Best Latin Jazz Album in 2023, Best Tango Album in 2020, and Best Instrumental Album in 2019. He has also received six Latin Grammy nominations, including three for Best Contemporary Classical Composition. A Steinway Artist since 2014, he has performed and collaborated with artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Christian McBride, Bette Midler, John Patitucci, Paquito D’Rivera, Eddie Gomez, Robert Duvall, Deepak Chopra, and the 12 cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic. His career includes appearances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Taiwan National Concert Hall.

Showtimes: 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM

Doors: 6:00 PM for the 7:00 PM performance and 8:45 PM for the 9:30 PM performance

Tickets: $35, plus a $7 fee

Food and Beverage Minimum: $15 per person, not included in the ticket price

Background: Casenave has contributed to major tango productions in the United States, including Forever Tango, Tango Fire, Tango Lovers, Tango Buenos Aires, and Eternal Tango Orchestra. He has also served as Jazz Department Director at the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts, taught tango master classes, and lectured at institutions including Juilliard, Yale, Eastman School of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, and Indiana University. He wrote the music theory book *The Harmonic Structure Levels* and serves on the permanent faculty of the Stowe Tango Music Festival.
