Pretty Bitter celebrate the release of their sophomore album, *Pleaser*, with a live performance at Black Cat. The D.C. DIY band is known for pairing emotionally intense stories of heartbreak and haunting with dissonant, energetic songwriting that draws on pop-rock, disco, synthpop, rock, pop, and folk. The bill also features Pulses., Padfoot, and Thisdogllhunt.

Led by Mel Bleker, Pretty Bitter share members with D.C. punk band Ekko Astral. *Pleaser* expands the group’s lush arrangements and dramatic sound, with production by Evan Weiss of Into It. Over It. and Pet Symmetry and Simon Small of Strawberry Boy. The album was released through Tiny Engines on July 25, 2025.
