Instrument Petting Zoos with BreezeWood Strings

Instrument Petting Zoos with BreezeWood Strings invites children to explore music through a hands-on introduction to a wide range of instruments. During each session, experienced student volunteers help children try violin, cello, ukulele, guitar, tongue drum, kalimba, tambourine, and other instruments.

The program is hosted by BreezeWood Strings, a student-led initiative of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Capital Youth Outreach Club. It is designed to help young children discover the joy of music; the organizers note that musical experiences can support developing neural connections related to language, memory, and emotional regulation.
