Lucinda Williams And Her Band

815 V St. NW, Washington, DC
Price not available
Featuring: Lucinda Williams, Marc Ford, Brady Blade, David Sutton

Lucinda Williams brings her newly configured band to 9:30 Club for an evening centered on her eighteenth studio album, *World’s Gone Wrong*. The record grew out of an urgent response to events unfolding in spring 2025, with Williams and her collaborators writing direct, politically charged songs about uncertainty, injustice, apathy, and the search for comfort through music.

The band features guitarist Marc Ford of the Black Crowes, drummer Brady Blade, and longtime bassist David Sutton. Williams has spent roughly 45 years building a catalog distinguished by emotionally incisive songwriting and singular vocals, including the acclaimed *Car Wheels on a Gravel Road*. She is a three-time Grammy winner and was named America’s Best Songwriter by *Time* in 2001.

*World’s Gone Wrong* includes ten tracks spanning blues, country, rock, and punk-blues. The album features guest contributions from Brittney Spencer, Rob Burger, Mickey Raphael, Maureen Murphy, Siobhan Kennedy, Reese Wynans, Mavis Staples, and Norah Jones, among others. Its songs address social turmoil and moral responsibility, including “Something’s Gotta Give,” “Freedom Speaks,” “How Much Did You Get for Your Soul?,” and the title track.
