Fair Play

Fair Play is a gripping new play by Ella Road, presented by 1st Stage and directed by Deidra LaWan Starnes. The story centers on Ann and Sophie, two athletes with a real chance to become champions, and follows what happens as public scrutiny closes in on their relationships, bodies, and identities. The play explores the darker side of women’s athletics and asks whether being exceptional can come at too high a personal price. Road, the playwright behind The Phlebotomist, has been praised by The Telegraph as a standout young British playwright.
