Roz Chast & Jason Adam Katzenstein — The Two Saddest Kitchens: A Comics Conversation — at Conn Ave
Roz Chast and Jason Adam Katzenstein present a humorous comics conversation about the unruly realities of kitchens, domestic life, and family culture. Drawing on their new book, *The Two Saddest Kitchens: A Comics Conversation*, the two cartoonists examine the gap between the kitchen as the supposed “heart of the home” and the far messier truth: tragic pantries, neglected appliances, unused specialty utensils, unmade recipes, and dream kitchens that may be better left imaginary.
Roz Chast is an award-winning *New Yorker* cartoonist whose work has appeared in the magazine since 1978, with more than 1,000 cartoons published there. She is the author of *Can We Talk About Something More Pleasant?*, *I Must Be Dreaming*, *Going Into Town*, *What I Hate: From A to Z*, and several cartoon collections. Her honors include a National Book Critics Circle Award, a Kirkus Prize, a Harvey Hall of Fame Award, and recognition as a finalist for the National Book Award. Jason Adam Katzenstein is a cartoonist and comedy writer whose work has appeared in *The New Yorker*, *The New York Times*, and *MAD Magazine*. He wrote and illustrated the graphic memoir *Everything Is an Emergency*.
