ERIC BENET

Eric Benét brings his acclaimed R&B and soul catalog to the Birchmere for an evening performance. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Benét grew up singing with his siblings and later formed the group Benét with his sister and cousin. After the group’s recording work with EMI, he pursued a solo career and released his breakthrough album *True to Myself* in 1996, featuring “Spiritual Thang,” “Femininity,” and “Let’s Stay Together.”

His subsequent career has included the hit “Spend My Life With You,” featuring Tamia, which earned a Grammy nomination and won the 2000 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Song. He later collaborated with producer David Foster on *Hurricane*, released *Love & Life* in 2008, and received further Grammy recognition for “You’re the Only One” and “Sometimes I Cry.” Benét has also worked in acting, television production, philanthropy, and entrepreneurial projects.
