I'll meet youthere

I'll Meet You There is a six-month mobile video exhibition that travels across Washington, DC, presented collaboratively by Hamiltonian Artists and The Nicholson Project. The exhibition brings together contemporary video works by four artists rooted in the DC region—Stephanie J. Williams, Jermaine “jET” Carter, Edgar Reyes, and A.J. McClenon—exploring themes of embodiment, identity, migration, memory, and collective care. Inspired by a line from Rumi’s poem “A Great Wagon,” the project considers what it means to inhabit spaces of uneasy familiarity, where the recognizable becomes quietly destabilizing. The exhibition unfolds in two fixed locations—Hamiltonian Artists’ U Street NW gallery and The Nicholson Project’s campus in Southeast DC—while also activating the city itself via a custom LED billboard media truck that roams all four quadrants on selected Saturdays and Wednesdays. At artist-chosen sites and in partnership with DC Public Libraries and neighborhood organizations, the truck pauses for screenings and public conversations, bringing video art directly into communities. At the Hamiltonian Artists gallery, videos are visible through the front window at any hour, with audio accessible via a smartphone QR code synced through Nubart technology. At The Nicholson Project, large-scale outdoor vinyl installations derived from the video imagery transform the rear exterior wall of the Garden Studios into a monumental open-air exhibition space. Together, these fixed and mobile components create a layered viewing experience that is both intimate and public.

When: March 16 through August 15, 2026.

Exhibition format: The mobile LED billboard truck traverses all four quadrants of Washington, DC on select Saturdays and Wednesdays throughout the run, pausing for screenings and public conversations. At the Hamiltonian Artists gallery, videos are shown in the front window and are viewable from the street at any hour, with audio available via a smartphone QR code synced by Nubart technology. At The Nicholson Project, large-scale outdoor vinyl installations drawn from the video imagery cover the rear exterior wall of the Garden Studios.

Public program: A project launch and dedication will take place on March 21, 2026, at 1pm, featuring an Artist Talk with Stephanie J. Williams in conversation with Luis Vasquez La Roche.
