Big Boy Little Band
Big Boy Little Band brings deep, traditional blues to Hank Dietle’s Tavern, led by Washington, DC blues singer and harmonica player Bret “Big Boy Little” Littlehales. The band’s sound draws on late-night Southern blues, with music intended to evoke longing, movement, and the urge to dance or simply feel alive.
Littlehales has performed in the Washington area since 1967 and has opened for B.B. King, Koko Taylor, and Junior Wells. In 2010, the band represented the DC Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge, placing among the Top 10 finalists out of 110 blues bands worldwide. Guitarist Matt Kelley also received the Albert King Award for top guitarist.
