Jeremy Pelt

Jeremy Pelt is presented at Blues Alley in a billed “50th Birthday Celebration.” The jazz trumpeter has worked with leading musicians and ensembles throughout his career, including the Mingus Big Band, Roy Hargrove Big Band, Village Vanguard Orchestra, and Duke Ellington Big Band. He is touring in support of *Soundtrack*, his latest release.

Pelt has also performed or recorded with artists including Cliff Barbaro, Keter Betts, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Ravi Coltrane, Frank Foster, Winard Harper, Jimmy Heath, Vincent Herring, John Hicks, Charli Persip, Ralph Peterson, Lonnie Plaxico, Bobby Short, Cedar Walton, Frank Wess, Nancy Wilson, and The Skatalites. He is a member of the Lewis Nash Septet and The Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band featuring Louis Hayes, and has released 10 albums as a bandleader. His work has received national and international critical recognition; he has been profiled in the *Wall Street Journal* and was named a Rising Star on trumpet by *DownBeat* and the Jazz Journalists Association for five consecutive years.
