Alsace: Pinot Gris World Wine Tasting & Dinner
Alsace: Pinot Gris World Wine Tasting & Dinner is an interactive evening exploring how Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio differ across regions. Caroline Whiteman, a WSET Level 3-certified wine expert and president of Alsace DC, will introduce guests to the fundamentals of wine tasting before leading a side-by-side comparison of four wines from Alsace, the United States, Italy, and New Zealand. The tasting examines how climate, terroir, winemaking methods, and regional traditions shape wines made from the same grape.
The wine experience will be followed by a traditional three-course Alsatian dinner at the French Embassy. The meal includes pâté en croûte with salad, bouchée à la reine with poultry and wild mushrooms in a creamy sauce served over Alsatian spaetzle, and blueberry tart. Additional Alsace wines, including Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Crémant, will be available for purchase at a cash bar.

Restrictions: Dinner substitutions are not available, and tickets are nonrefundable.
Entry requirements: Every attendee must have a ticket registered in their own name and a government-issued photo ID matching the name on the reservation. Guests must present their Eventbrite ticket, either printed or on a phone. No one will be admitted without both a reservation and official identification.
Security: Guests should allow extra time for screening. Umbrellas, large bags, backpacks, animals, liquids, food, blunt objects, helmets, and other items considered dangerous by Embassy security are prohibited and may be confiscated.
Parking: There is no on-site parking. Metered parking is available on Reservoir Road for $2.30 per hour, with a four-hour maximum until 10:00 p.m. Garage parking is available at Georgetown MedStar Health via Entrance 2 at 2800 Reservoir Road NW, at approximately $25 for up to three hours.
