Alsace: Pinot Gris World Wine Tasting & Dinner
Alsace: Pinot Gris World Wine Tasting & Dinner is an interactive exploration of Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio from four wine regions, followed by a traditional three-course Alsatian meal at the French Embassy. Caroline Whiteman, a WSET Level 3-certified wine expert and president of Alsace DC, leads an introduction to wine-tasting fundamentals before guests compare wines from Alsace, the United States, Italy, and New Zealand.
The tasting focuses on how climate, terroir, winemaking techniques, and regional traditions influence wines made from the same grape. Dinner includes classic Alsatian dishes, and additional Alsace wines will be available for purchase at a cash bar.

Showtimes: The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets: General admission is $81.88, including a $6.88 fee. Alsace Washington DC Association members pay $65.87. To receive the member rate, contact alsacewashingtondc@gmail.com. Annual membership costs $30 for an individual or $50 for a family.
Program: The evening begins with an introduction to wine-tasting techniques, followed by a side-by-side tasting of four Pinot Gris or Pinot Grigio wines from Alsace, the United States, Italy, and New Zealand. A traditional Alsatian three-course dinner follows.
Presenter: Caroline Whiteman, a WSET Level 3-certified wine expert and president of Alsace DC.
Dinner menu: The appetizer is pâté en croûte with a side salad. The main course is bouchée à la reine, consisting of puff pastry filled with a creamy poultry and wild-mushroom sauce, served over Alsatian spaetzle. Dessert is blueberry tart, or tarte aux myrtilles.
Cash bar: Alsace Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and sparkling Crémant will be available for purchase.
Dietary note: Dinner substitutions are not available.

Venue: La Maison Française, Embassy of France in the United States, 4101 Reservoir Road NW, Washington, DC 20007.
Security: Every attendee must have a ticket registered in their own name and a government-issued photo ID matching the reservation. Guests must present their Eventbrite ticket, either printed or on a phone, and should allow extra time for security screening.
Prohibited items: Umbrellas, large bags, backpacks, animals, liquids, food, blunt objects, helmets, and other items considered dangerous by Embassy security are prohibited and may be confiscated.
Parking: There is no on-site parking. Metered parking on Reservoir Road costs $2.30 per hour, with a four-hour maximum until 10 p.m. Garage parking is available at Georgetown MedStar Health via Entrance 2 at 2800 Reservoir Road NW for approximately $25 for up to three hours.
Photography: Registration constitutes consent to be photographed or recorded and permits the organizers to use attendees’ images and likenesses for promotional and archival purposes.
