UMD Wind Ensemble Concert

The UMD Wind Ensemble presents its October concert, “This is America,” as part of the America 250 theme. The program considers different perspectives on the American dream through works by American composers, ranging from folk-inspired Americana to music honoring the courage of Marsha P. Johnson. The ensemble is led by Andrea Brown and emphasizes wind-band and chamber repertoire, with particular attention to composers from underrepresented populations.

Venue: Dekelboum Concert Hall at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center

Program: The concert includes Clifton Williams’s *Fanfare & Allegro*, Daniel Kallman’s *An American Tapestry*, Sally Lamb McCune’s *High Water Rising*, Frank Ticheli’s *Sanctuary*, William Schumann’s *New England Triptych*, and Omar Thomas’s *Mother of a Revolution!*
