UMD Wind Ensemble Concert
The UMD Wind Ensemble presents its October concert, an evening of wind band and chamber ensemble repertoire in the Dekelboum Concert Hall at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. Led by conductor Andrea Brown, the ensemble performs works drawn from the most respected literature written for wind band, with a stated emphasis on highlighting composers from underrepresented populations. The specific program selections will be announced closer to the performance date, so the evening is being billed as a chance to hear the ensemble’s current concert cycle in a general admission setting.
The concert takes place on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 8:00 pm, and admission is free with no tickets required. Presented by the UMD School of Music, the event is open to the public in the Dekelboum Concert Hall, with a range of accessibility services available upon request, including wheelchair-accessible and size-inclusive seating, large print programs, assisted listening devices, sensory packs, and quiet spaces. ASL interpretation, audio description, and captioning can also be arranged for select events with at least six weeks’ advance notice.
