Salute to Vienna

Salute to Vienna is a festive New Year's concert presented by Glatz Loft Concerts, returning to the Music Center at Strathmore on Sunday, January 3, 2027, at 3pm. The performance celebrates Vienna's Golden Age with the music of Johann Strauss, Jr., bringing the "Waltz King" to life through a full orchestra, European opera singers, and international dancers. Audiences can expect a soaring program of overtures, arias, and duets, including the beloved Blue Danube Waltz, all set against elegant costumes and lush floral stage decorations. The concert is conducted and hosted with playful wit by an expert in Viennese music, and the tradition has become a favorite across North America as a joyful way to waltz into the new year.

This edition of the annual tradition features the Strauss Symphony of America, conducted by Imre Kollár from Budapest, with soprano Katarzyna Dondalska from Berlin–Warsaw and tenor Martin Piskorski from Vienna. Dancers from the Budapest Ballet and International Champion Ballroom Dancers add spectacle to the performance. The event is produced by Glatz Loft Concerts, and artists are subject to change without notice.
