Music of the Americas: A Benefit for Young Musicians

Pianist Steve Baddour presents an afternoon program exploring music by composers from throughout the Americas. The concert spans works from the United States, Brazil, Argentina, and Cuba, with particular attention to African American and Indigenous American composers.

Alongside the performances, Baddour will discuss the history, concepts, and interpretive decisions behind the selections, offering insight into how written music becomes a live performance. The family-friendly event welcomes listeners of all ages, and a reception will follow. Proceeds benefit tuition assistance for CHAW music students so that children are not excluded from music study because of financial circumstances.
