Creative Development Series: Painting with Sustainable Food Dyes is a hands-on workshop focused on transforming discarded fruits and vegetables into vibrant, sustainable art materials. Led by Virginia Tech faculty, the event connects creative experimentation with environmental responsibility and explores how food waste can become a source of innovation rather than a discarded resource. The workshop is presented as a popular returning event.

Workshop focus: Participants will learn how fruit and vegetable food waste can be repurposed into sustainable materials and used for painting. The workshop addresses the environmental impact of food waste while encouraging creativity, experimentation, and sustainable design thinking.
