QuinTango - New Music Releases - Argentinean Jazz Series

QuinTango, a five-time WAMMIE-winning ensemble and DC's 2023 Best Latin Artist/Group, brings its signature blend of classical chops, jazz harmonies, and intimate storytelling to Blues Alley for an evening of new music releases as part of the Argentinean Jazz Series. The band—comprising two violins, bandoneon, bass, vocals, and piano—offers a program that ranges from the nuevo tango of Astor Piazzolla to tango poesia (a genre invented by bandmember Emmanuel Trifilio) and tango fusion by vocalist Ali Cook, all woven together with authentic Golden Age tangos. With past performances at the White House, Kennedy Center, and venues across three continents, including a co-presentation with the Embassy of Argentina, this concert promises a genuine Buenos Aires experience in the heart of Washington, DC.
