What Remains/The Vietnam War and its Reckoning
What Remains/The Vietnam War and its Reckoning is a group exhibition featuring work by intercultural artists who served during the Vietnam War. Through sculpture, painting, and repurposed materials, the exhibition examines the conflict, its aftermath, and the ways military service has shaped the artists’ identities, lives, and creative practices.
The exhibition is organized around three themes: moral injury, coloniality of space, and resilience. Together, these themes consider what survives after violence, how military experience is carried forward or resisted, and what may emerge from its aftermath. The page also highlights Edwards, a Washington, D.C.-based artist whose practice includes pulp painting, oil, ink, printmaking, mixed media, and acrylics and whose work has been shown nationally and internationally.
