High School Choir Invitational: UMD Choral Activities

The UMD High School Choir Invitational brings talented high school choirs from throughout the DMV to the University of Maryland for an evening celebrating the future of choral music. The visiting ensembles will perform alongside the UMD Chamber Singers and University Chorale, creating a showcase of vibrant performances from emerging and collegiate musicians.

The 2026 invitational welcomes six high schools. Centennial High School is listed among the participating schools, under the direction of Rebecca Vanover. The event also highlights UMD Choral Activities, with choral conducting alumnus Jason Max Ferdinand, D.M.A. ’15, making his season debut as the new director of choral activities.
