Rashad Robinson — From Presence to Power: How to Take On the Fights That Matter--and Win - with Joy Ann Reid — at Conn Ave
Rashad Robinson, a veteran social justice strategist with more than two decades of leadership in both LGBTQ rights and racial justice movements, visits Politics and Prose to discuss his new book "From Presence to Power: How to Take On the Fights That Matter—and Win." He will be joined in conversation by Joy Ann Reid, a New York Times bestselling author and former MSNBC host. Robinson argues that achieving presence through marches and media attention is not the same as gaining the leverage needed to change the rules or decisions of those in power. The book offers lessons and tools for everyday people to build real power and win progress, drawing on his experience taking on tech giants, the criminal justice system, and political and corporate leaders.
