Mason Jazz Vocal Night: Spring 2027
Mason Jazz Vocal Night: Spring 2027 brings the George Mason University community an evening of vocal jazz in the Concert Hall, featuring student singers alongside a professional-caliber ensemble. The program showcases both the Mason Jazz Voice Studio and the DOWNBEAT Award-winning Mason Jazz Vocal Ensemble, with special guest appearances by Stone Bridge High School’s “Encore” Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Under the direction of Dr. Darden Purcell, the performers will move through swinging jazz standards, Latin American favorites, and enduring classics from the Great American Songbook, all supported by a rhythm section and shaped by the passion and precision of young vocalists.
The concert is scheduled for a single evening on Monday, April 12, 2027, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on the Fairfax Campus. Admission is tiered by age, with fees included in the ticket price, and the performance is ASL interpreted. The digital program is expected to be available during the week of the event.
