Anthony “Tony” Walker & Friends

Anthony “Tony” Walker & Friends is a celebration of the voices and legacies that emerged from Washington, D.C.’s Black communities and shaped American music. Led by Anthony “Tony” Walker—the longtime music director and accompanist of Washington Performing Arts Children of the Gospel Choir, as well as a producer, educator, and DMV-area luminary—the evening is part concert and part storytelling. It weaves together the music and personal histories of legendary artists Roberta Flack, Marvin Gaye, Donnie Hathaway, and Richard Smallwood, honoring the people and places behind songs that have become part of the nation’s cultural fabric.
