Requiem and Renewal

Sat, May 8, 2027at 7:30 PM
5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda, MD
Price not available

The Washington Chorus partners with the National Philharmonic for an evening that pairs Mozart’s monumental Requiem with the East Coast premiere of Jocelyn Hagen’s large-scale symphonic work, *What the Soul Already Knows*. The program explores themes of the sacred, the soul, and our shared humanity—Hagen’s piece, jointly commissioned by Pacific Chorale and The Washington Chorus, draws inspiration from John Philip Newell’s *Sacred Earth, Sacred Soul* and invites listeners to reflect on interconnectedness, gratitude, and unity. Mozart’s Requiem completes the meditation on life, death, and the beyond.

When: Saturday, May 8, 2027 at 7:30 PM

Venue: Music Center at Strathmore (Strathmore)

Program: Jocelyn Hagen’s *What the Soul Already Knows* (East Coast premiere) followed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s *Requiem in D Minor, K. 626*

Artists: Eugene Rogers (conductor), Rabihah Dunn (soprano), Ashley Dixon (mezzo-soprano), Brian Giebler (tenor), Alan Williams (baritone), Jocelyn Hagen (composer)

Note: This concert is part of The Washington Chorus’s 65th Anniversary Season and is presented in partnership with the National Philharmonic. Subscriptions are on sale now; single ticket prices are not listed. The venue does not indicate age restrictions or run time for this event.
