Craig Robinson brings his distinctive blend of stand-up comedy and live music to the DC Improv main room for a four-night special engagement running January 28 through January 31, 2027. Best known as Darryl Philbin from “The Office,” Robinson also delivers a lively stage show that mixes jokes with musical performances, often alongside his band The Nasty Delicious. The run features a single show on Thursday and Sunday, with two shows each on Friday and Saturday.

Robinson’s path to comedy began in the Chicago Public School system, where he worked as a K-8 teacher before pursuing entertainment full time. He studied at Illinois State University and earned a master’s degree from St. Xavier University, and he discovered comedy and acting through Chicago’s Second City. He first gained wider notice at the 1998 Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. His credits include “Killing It,” “Dolemite Is My Name,” “Hot Tub Time Machine,” “This Is the End,” “Morris from America,” “Tragedy Girls,” and numerous other films and television series, including the sitcom “Mr. Robinson” and the series “Ghosted.”
