Jazz Big Band Showdown: Spring 2027
On Monday, March 29, 2027, at 7:30 p.m., George Mason University’s Center for the Arts hosts the Jazz Big Band Showdown: Spring 2027, a spirited evening of big band jazz in the Concert Hall on the Fairfax Campus. Mason's own jazz ensembles take the stage for a friendly competitive showcase of style and musicianship, featuring big brass, driving rhythm, and classic swing. The event promises a spectacular night of big band music, with the Mason Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz Workshop both performing, plus a special guest band that is still to be announced.
When: Monday, March 29, 2027, at 7:30 p.m.
Venue: Center for the Arts, Concert Hall, Fairfax Campus, George Mason University.
Lineup: Mason Jazz Ensemble (director Jim Carroll) and Jazz Workshop (director John Kocur). A special guest band will also perform, to be announced.
Tickets: $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for youth. Prices include fees.
