The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by nine-time Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, presents two evenings of American jazz at its apex in what marks Marsalis’s final season as Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center and Music Director of the Orchestra. Co-presented by Washington Performing Arts and Strathmore, the 15-member ensemble performs with lock-step precision and stunning virtuosity, drawing from the great big-band tradition. Each of the two nights features a unique program—to be announced—that emphasizes works by Marsalis and the orchestra’s own composers and arrangers, a testament to three decades of bringing this singular art form to audiences across 40 countries.
